Aleine Ridge
Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling with Communication and Counselling Foundation (1993). Certificate in Psychosexual Health (2007). Spiritual Counsellor with the Interfaith Foundation (2010). I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist (first accredited in 1997) and a UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor/Psychotherapist since 1997.
I have worked as a counsellor since 1973 and as a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer since 1990. I co-founded Spiral in 1995 and am co-director here. As well as having an extensive private practice I have worked in a number of different organisations as counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor, trainer or consultant: NHS, Pregnancy Advisory Service, Lesbian Line, London Rape Crisis, Complementary Health Trust, Women and Health, Stress Project, NSPCC, One in Four, MIND, Angel Drug Project, ADVANCE and Westminster MIND
Having worked with such a diversity of people over a long period of time I work integratively, incorporating client-centred, interpretative and focussed approaches depending on what is most appropriate. A lot of the people I see are dealing with the effects of childhood trauma. The traumas might have been emotional, physical, mental, sexual or spiritual and any of these aspects of self may be affected. I am constantly inspired by the shared journey of healing, by the integration of insight and hope
I see individuals, couples and groups on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays
Fees are £60 for 50 minutes (individuals) and £100 for 90 minutes (couples)
Concessions are offered depending on availability

Maria North
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling with the Communication and Counselling Foundation (1994), an MA in Psychotherapy and Healing with the Society for Psychology and Healing (2006), a Certificate in Integrative and Transpersonal Supervision at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust (2000). I also completed a Couples Therapy training with Re.Vision in 2007. I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor (first accredited in 1997), a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist (2005), and a UKAHPP Accredited Psychotherapist (2005). I am co-director at Spiral
As a long experienced therapist, I work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures around whatever issues they bring. I see individuals and couples, usually on a medium-term or longer-term basis. I usually see people weekly, and can offer twice weekly sessions when appropriate. I am at Spiral on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
My approach is an integration of many strands, including the humanistic, transpersonal and psychodynamic. The person comes before the approach: I work with people in whatever way I feel will best support them in healing their distress, exploring potential and making purposeful life choices. I believe healing comes about through making fulfilling relationship with the self and others. Finding this relationship often involves getting in touch with and understanding feelings and experiences which are not held in consciousness. Among others, one of the routes to this understanding is through exploring dreams, which I see as invitations towards self-understanding and balance
Individuals: £55 for a 50 minute session; couples: £65 for a 1 hour session. Concessions are offered depending on availability

Carole Ellison
MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy, Psychosynthesis and Education Trust (2004). Certificate in Body Orientated Psychotherapy, Midsummer Training, Cambridge (1990). I am registered with the UKCP and am a member of BACP. I have run Art Therapy groups for trainee psychiatric nurses and have taught on a psychodynamic counselling course at Cambridge University. I also work as a psychotherapist for the NHS
I have been practising as a psychotherapist since 1990, during which time I have specialised in areas such as relationships, abuse, depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, panic attacks, sexuality, work difficulties, low self-esteem and self-awareness
I focus on creating an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance and trust in which to facilitate the exploration, challenge and potential transformation of underlying issues. My approach is integrative and I am experienced in a broad range of perspectives; this allows me to work with each client according to individual needs and inclinations
I work in private practice at Spiral on Wednesday afternoons and evenings and in Cambridge at other times in the week. My current fees are £55; concessions are offered depending on availability

Aneela Mallick Ferdinand
BA (Hons) Psychology, London Guildhall University (1994), European Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, City and Islington College (2001). Post Graduate Diploma in Analytical Psychology, validated by the University of Middlesex (2006). I am a member of BACP
I work integratively with individuals and have experience of working in areas such as depression, confidence and self-esteem, cultural and identity issues, body image and relationship difficulties
I have a special interest in intercultural work and in working with dreams and imagery. Rather than looking at ‘cures’, my bias lies in an expectation that we can learn to live more fully and comfortably with our paradoxes and that the acceptance of this grants us our potentials
I work at Spiral on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, and at other times during weekdays and evenings. My current fees are £37-£40; concessions are offered depending on availability

Maggie O'Neill
I am a graduate of the Gestalt Centre in London, having completed my Diploma in 2002. I am a member of BACP
As a Gestalt counsellor my areas of competence and experience include depression, anxiety and panic, low self-esteem, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, anger management, domestic abuse, self injury, suicide and sexual abuse
A Gestalt session offers support and constructive challenge in talking through confusion and difficulties, exploring current situations and relationships. Gestalt focuses on the here and now and how we are as we are. This can involve learning how present fixed patterns, and sometimes unresolved or unfinished business from the past, may be influential now. Gestalt can identify patterns that are no longer useful and give us the awareness to help to change them by exploring new possibilities
I am available for individual counselling at Spiral on Mondays during the day. I also have practices in London in EC2 and E3. My current fee is £35 - £45; concessions are offered depending on availability

Cath Yankson
Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling, University of North London (2002). UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor. BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist (2005)
My training was an integration of both interpretative and client-centred perspectives, and, as such, I work integratively using a range of skills. I have worked as a counsellor in many different settings including London Friend, London Metropolitan University, City and Islington College, PACE, Mind, and William Morris Sixth Form College. I have also worked in the field of education as a teacher, facilitator and support worker since 1997. My counselling is informed by these and other life experiences and by my continuing personal and professional development. My approach centres primarily on the relationship between counsellor and client, and focuses on how this relationship allows the client to consider aspects of themselves in relation to another
I am committed to working respectfully and sensitively with individual clients, and have particular interest in and experience of working with aspects of diversity and difference. I have worked with clients to address a broad spectrum of issues including relationship difficulties, sexual orientation, cultural identity (including issues of mixed heritage), depression, self-esteem, and abuse
I can offer day and evening sessions and most often work at Spiral on Wednesdays. I am also able to offer sessions in NW6. Fees are £30-£40; sliding scale of concessions depending on availability

Susan Mashkes
I hold a Diploma in Counselling from the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust (2005) and am a member of BACP
I work with the issues that are causing a client pain, including problems in relationships or work, low self-esteem, depression, abuse, anxiety, spiritual crisis or lack of purpose or meaning in life
The context for this work is my belief in the vast potential, both practical and spiritual, of each individual. This is informed by many years in the business world as well as experience of living and working in different cultures
I may employ techniques such as visualisation, drawing or dialogue with inner voices to challenge clients to fully live their lives, but above all I offer support and a safe place in which the process of healing and growth may continue
I work at Spiral on Monday evenings. I also see clients at a venue near London Bridge and in Brighton. Fees are £35-£45 with concessionary spaces offered depending on availability

Deborah Berger
Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling from Re.Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis (2005). I am a member of BACP. I also work as a trainer, consultant and facilitator in the voluntary and public sectors, and offer various therapeutic self development workshops
I have experience of working with clients who bring a range of life issues both past and present. These have included healing from childhood trauma; sexuality; difficulties in relationship; anxiety and stress; sexual or other abuse; addiction; loss and grief; feelings of low self esteem; life choices and becoming who you are. You may have a clear idea of what you want to bring to counselling, or you may simply feel that now is the time to pay attention to some hurt or confusion which is getting in the way of your life
My approach is to enable you to talk about whatever feels important to you at each session. I can see you for a shorter period of weeks or months or we can meet for longer term work which will give space for more depth. I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is central and it is this that can bring most clarity. It is often the learning from the ordinary ways we talk or listen together in the sessions that allows lasting change
Integrative Psychosynthesis is a way of counselling that includes the mind, body, spirit and feelings as a background, and in our work together I will respect and acknowledge all of who you are. I will use a variety of approaches depending on what works best for you. For some clients using images and creativity to support the sessions brings a richness to the process, and for some it is important to allow a place for soul to be present. For some it is most important simply to have a space to talk, be listened to, explore thoughts and feelings about how life is and find a way forward
I am interested in the complex issues of culture, heritage, difference and oppression and in this I am guided by both my own history and my learning over many years of working with diversity. I appreciate that difference sometimes comes with the painful experience of not being respected or accepted by others, and I also celebrate the strength that it brings. Each person is unique and has their own culture, history and values, and this - who you are - is essential to the work we do together
I offer day and evening sessions at Spiral, primarily on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with some other occasional availability. My current fees are £45; concessions are offered depending on availability

I am a member of BPS. My role as a psychologist-practitioner involves the application of scientific principles to psychological health. I am trained in humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. I tend to integrate these approaches, using the tools and techniques which might best assist you into moving beyond any limiting beliefs or negative behaviour patterns, and to enhance your psychological well-being
My clinical experience has been acquired through work at the Priory Hospital, MIND, the Nile Centre, and at Spiral. I have worked with people from diverse communities over short and long periods of time. I am aware of the psychosocial, economic, gender-specific and cultural issues that impact on people’s lives and integrate this focus into the therapy
I have 5 years' experience as a counsellor offering sessions to individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties that relate to the past, present and future. Audrey Wilson
Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling, with Re.Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis (2006). I am a member of BACP and have been at Spiral since 2004
As an integrative therapist I am able to draw on the strengths of multiple disciplines including Jungian, psychodynamic, humanistic, transpersonal and gestalt. I work with a diverse client base and view each client and their symptoms – pain, confusion, lack of purpose, depression, stress, anxiety, sadness, anger – as both unique and personal to them and their history, and universal, as an echo of the human conditions which we all share
Many of my clients are dealing with the effects of physical and emotional trauma, abuses in childhood, bereavement, or difficult relationships. We work together, creatively, intuitively, and often intensely, to return their bodies and psyches to their own natural rhythm. Whatever the specifics, the majority of my clients are finding one or more areas of their lives in which they are feeling not at home in their skin. We work together to find home
I currently work at Spiral on Tuesday afternoons and evenings. I also have a practice in Bath, Somerset. Sessions last for 50 minutes and I charge £45. Concessions are offered depending on availability

In addition I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Humanistic Psychotherapy from Spectrum (2001), whose training is accredited by UKCP. I continue there in ongoing training and supervision. As a humanistic psychotherapist, I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to a positive therapeutic outcome. I seek to work collaboratively with my clients, in an environment of trust, honesty and dialogue. Within the context of that relationship, I work in many and varied ways in order to support people to develop the skills and awareness they need to live in a more satisfying way. I draw on several approaches depending on the needs of my clients, such as somatic work, gestalt therapy and dream therapy. I believe that psychotherapy is a transformational, challenging and revelatory process that can deepen and enrich our experience of being alive

Celia Urbach
Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis, Re.Vision Centre for integrative Psychosynthesis (2009); Introductory Certificate in Counselling Skills and Humanistic Psychology, City University (1991). I am a member of BACP.
I offer a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental space where we can look at what is troubling you. I work in an integrative way, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic, and transpersonal approaches, with a key emphasis on the relationship. I use visualization, imagination, dreams, and 'chair work', to explore deeper unconscious processes. This can offer insights into how childhood experiences may have affected you, but equally, it offers a soul perspective, which views pain and suffering as a meaningful part of the journey towards understanding, wisdom and self-knowledge
I have a 20-year background in law and advice work, as well as working on helplines, and as a hospice befriender. I have had a life-long interest in personal and spiritual growth, and have taken part in many trainings and workshops to deepen my understanding of myself and my life path
I am at Spiral on Monday mornings, and I also practise in Stoke Newington. In addition, I do educational and consultancy work, and bereavement counselling in a hospice
I offer an initial consultation for £10. If you decide to continue with me, my charges are £35 for 50 minutes. Concessions are offered depending on availability
