Elizabeth Knight : Healing-Shiatsu

BA (Hons) Psychology; Shiatsu diploma from the Healing Shiatsu Education Centre (1993), with director Sonia Moriceau. I am a member of the Shiatsu Society and adhere to their code of ethics and practice

Shiatsu is a massage through clothes based on ancient Chinese traditions. Using pressure points throughout the body, shiatsu facilitates the energy flow through the complex network of channels and meridians in the body, to bring about balance and harmony, and physical and emotional release

I have been working with shiatsu clients for 15 years. I work to promote people's awareness of ease and tension through meridian work and stretches. The balance of ki is explored in relationship to the five elements of oriental medicine which affect many aspects of everyday life.

My training emphasised the quality of healing-shiatsu touch, grounded in meditation practice. I have been supported in my own work and life by zen and Tibetan meditation practices, alongside T'ai Chi teachings

I practise at Spiral on Sundays, and in Devon. My fees are £35; concessions are offered depending on availability

Vivien Evans : Bowen Technique

My qualification, gained in 2002, is with the BTAA (Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, who teach the original Bowen Technique developed by Tom Bowen). I am also a qualified massage therapist, with an ITEC qualification in Anatomy and Physiology (1996). I trained in London with the Bowen Association of the UK (the European arm of the BTAA). I am a member of the Bowen Association of the UK/BTAA, and adhere to their code of ethics

Bowen Technique consists of varied sequences of gentle, precise moves over muscles, tendons and nerves, which can release tension, improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, and facilitate energy flow. The moves encourage the body to heal itself by finding its own natural physical and energetic balance. People with a wide range of physical conditions can benefit from Bowen Technique. It can help with a wide variety of conditions including, among others, migraines and headaches, stress and tension symptoms, chronic viral fatigue syndrome and ME, hay fever and respiratory conditions, back pain and sciatica, and joint and muscle problems

Each case is different. I will take into consideration your past history as well as what is happening in the present. Bowen Technique is suitable for people of all ages, from the newborn to the elderly

I practise at Spiral on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings. Other daytime slots and some evenings are often possible

Fees: First session (up to 1hr 15mins): £40; Regular sessions (between 30mins and 1hr): £35. Concessions are offered depending on availability

Louise Wilde : Healing

I qualified with and was accredited by the Confederation of Healing Organisations in September 2000. I studied at the College of Psychic Studies (CPS) in London, where I have practised and worked in their healing clinics since 1998. I also work as a tutor and workshop leader in the healing faculty at CPS. I have a BA (joint Hons) in Psychology, Philosophy and Ethics (University of Lancaster 1983). As an accredited CPS healer, I am bound by the UK Healers Code of Conduct

I believe that the purpose of healing is to empower you to connect with your innate ability to achieve a perfect state of balance in body, mind and spirit. The healer acts as a channel for healing energies, working with you to engage your own healing potential. Healing is given either through gentle touch on the body, or through touching the energy that surrounds the body. You can receive healing for any illness, stress or injury without any side effects. You do not need to have any specific religious or spiritual beliefs

I have been involved in healing for most of my life, growing up in a family of healers. Prior to my training and formal accreditation at CPS, I studied with a number of teachers, working as a healing facilitator in a less formal way. I have a strong belief in the power of integrated medicine and have run workshops at the CPS where doctors, nurses and complementary practitioners have come together to learn about each other’s approaches, for example, how they work with serious illness. In particular, I have organised workshops on cancer, mental illnesses, HIV/AIDS and addiction.

Appointments can be booked in the daytime and evenings and sometimes at weekends. Fee: £50 for 50 minutes; concessions are offered depending on availability.

Felice Rhiannon : Yoga Therapy

I qualified as a Professional Yoga Therapist at Integrative Yoga Therapy (USA 2000 – 2004) after completing general yoga teacher training at the Shambhava School of Yoga (USA, in 1998). I also hold a Certificate in Restorative Yoga from the Santa Barbara Yoga Center (USA, 2003). I am registered as an Experienced Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance (UK and US) and with the International Association of Yoga Therapists

I have a background in meditation and the exploration of human consciousness, as well as Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (Lic.Ac., B.Ac., M.Ac, 1975-1980), which I practised for 13 years prior to training in yoga. Years of yoga practice have inspired me to write A Vibrant Life: Yoga in the Middle Years and Beyond, a primer of classical and modified practices for all levels of ability

At Spiral I offer personalised sessions for individuals, and specialised classes for small groups, both of which are particularly appropriate for people in their middle years and beyond, as well as for people of any age living with physical challenges such as cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, digestive or respiratory disorders, and people experiencing mental, emotional or spiritual challenges. I also teach Yoga to the general public

Yoga is an ancient gem, equal parts art and science. Yoga Therapy is one of this gem's most beautiful facets. It focuses on the well-being of the whole person, bringing into harmony the individual's physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. Because this process is unique to each person, I select, modify and adapt the practices of Yoga to suit your changing needs. I draw from a vast array of classical yoga practices…physical postures, breathing practices, guided imagery, chanting, visualization and meditation, as needed. I see each individual as an expression and reflection of infinite possibilities and intelligence. Together we initiate a journey that takes you to your deepest self, healing imbalances and revealing your inner nature

My fees for 60 minute sessions are £50, following an initial 90 minute session at £65. Concessions are offered depending on availability

I practise at Spiral on Fridays. Other days by may be available
